Book > Plastering
The screed is a powdery or ready-mixed mixture which, after application and drying, forms a finishing layer on the treated surface. It aims to straighten out the smallest unevenness on the walls.
Technology
The pavement is mainly used in indoor, dry and enclosed spaces that are not exposed to external atmospheric influences. Recently, building gypsum is increasingly being replaced by plaster glue and plaster, which are many times more efficient and with more open working time. This allows both high quality work and a better final effect. Their application is mainly for application on: concrete, aerated concrete, lime-sand, lime-cement and gypsum plasters, masonry, gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fiber boards, as well as covering the joints in dry construction.
Preparation of the base and materials
Initially clean the base from dust, greasy stains or paint. In a suitable stainless steel container, the powder is mixed, respecting the proportions recorded on the packaging by the manufacturer. The mixture is mixed with a suitable agitator and allowed to mature for about 5 minutes. It is then re-mixed to a homogeneous mixture, and after the second stirring the mixture is not subject to any further manipulation.
Application
There are different technologies in different putties, but the most common is that they are applied with a squeegee / trowel with equal and accurate movements and at the same pace, taking care not to dry certain sections before others. According to the purpose of the ground coat, it can be equalizing or finishing. The equalizer requires a thicker coat / coat in 2-3 hands /, following the manufacturer's instructions. For thicker layers, it is recommended to replace the plaster with gypsum plaster. The fine coat must be very thin.
Shucking and cycling
The pavement ends with sanding or sanding with the appropriate sandpaper depending on the effect sought, and it is best to make it machine. Cycling is done by wetting the surface with a sponge and then, after a while, spread with a "butterfly" spatula evenly over the surface.
